His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and complex gastrointestinal disorders. He has participated in numerous regional and international gastroenterology meetings as a speaker, moderator and chairperson. His involvement in professional education reflects his commitment to advancing evidence-based gastroenterology practice and multidisciplinary digestive healthcare. Dr. Matthew Vadukoot Gastroenterologist Lifecare Hospital, Abu Dhabi Dr. Mazen Taha HOD & Gastroenterologist Tawam Hospital, Al Ain Dr. Merezban Katrak Surgeon & Head of Department of Surgery NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi Dr. Mazen Taha is a Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Chief of Gastroenterology at Tawam Hospital, Al Ain. He also serves as Chairman of Internal Medicine and Clinical Associate Professor at UAE University. Dr. Taha has held senior clinical and academic responsibilities within the UAE and has contributed to the advancement of gastroenterology and hepatology services. His leadership combines clinical expertise, medical education and departmental development within one of the UAE’s major tertiary healthcare institutions. Dr. Merezban Piloo Katrak is a Consultant General & Laparoscopic Surgeon and Head of the Department of Surgery at NMC Specialty Hospital, Abu Dhabi. He has over 22 years of experience in general and minimally invasive surgery, with expertise in major abdominal procedures, laparoscopic hernia and gallbladder surgery, anorectal conditions, pilonidal disease, varicose veins and breast surgery. He holds an MBBS and DNB in Surgery, along with MRCS and FRCS qualifications from the UK, and fellowships in Minimal Access, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery. His special interests include advanced laparoscopic hernia surgery, complex abdominal wall procedures and minimally invasive anorectal surgery.
